  8. Berkeley, Calif., June 3, 1993   Software Ventures Corporation, developer of
  9. the award-winning line of MicroPhone  communications software, today announced
  10. that because NEXTSTEP communications users responded so favorably to a special
  11. discount price offer on MicroPhone Pro 1.0 for NEXTSTEP it is extending the
  12. offer through July 31, 1993.

  14. Normally listed at $395, MicroPhone Pro is now just $99, when customers order
  15. through NEXTConnection's mail order service (1-800-800-NEXT). The special
  16. price began in April and was promoted during the recent NEXTWORLD Expo in May,
  17. where NEXT, Inc. introduced its NEXTSTEP operating system for Intel computers.

  21. like a magical price point today, it grabs price-conscious users' attention.

  26. MicroPhone Pro for NEXTSTEP, introduced in September 1992, gives NEXT computer
  27. users a flexible set of tools to transfer data, communicate with remote
  28. computers, build custom scripts and design graphical interfaces.  Using
  29. powerful scripting that NeXTWorld magazine called "whiz-bang," MicroPhone Pro
  30. for NEXTSTEP users can automate much of their communications, without having
  31. to memorize log-in and navigation sequences.

  33. MicroPhone Pro for NEXTSTEP implements a comprehensive set of file transfer
  34. protocols to send text, graphics and sound files. Protocols supported include
  35. Text/ASCII, XMODEM, YMODEM, ZMODEM and Kermit. Terminal emulation includes
  36. TTY, VT100, VT102 and VT220. Full TCP/IP support allows users to connect
  37. directly to TCP/IP networks, such as the Internet.
